Chicken Bacon Ranch Rolls

Chicken Bacon Ranch Rolls are what happens when a handful of dependable grocery-store shortcuts decide to work together and save dinner. You’ve got shredded rotisserie chicken, bacon, ranch, cream cheese, sharp cheddar, crescent rolls, and a creamy sauce baked over the whole thing. Nothing about that combination is trying to be subtle, and I mean that as a compliment.
This is exactly the kind of dinner I want when everybody is hungry and I need something warm, filling, and familiar without turning the kitchen upside down. The filling comes together in one bowl, the crescent dough does the wrapping for you, and the oven takes it from there.
Shortcut ingredients are doing their job
I’m using rotisserie chicken here because the chicken is already cooked, already seasoned, and ready to shred. That knocks out one whole part of dinner before we even start. Crescent rolls are doing the same thing. Could you make some beautiful homemade dough? Absolutely. Are we doing that tonight? We are not.
The filling gets its creamy base from softened cream cheese, then bacon, ranch seasoning, and sharp cheddar bring the flavor. It’s rich and savory, with enough ranch flavor to make the whole thing feel familiar without needing a long spice list.
And yes, we’re using canned soup for the sauce. This is comfort food, y’all. The point is to get something good on the table, not to create extra work just so we can brag about it later.
Roll them up and let the oven handle it
Each piece of crescent dough gets some of that chicken mixture, then you roll it up and place it in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish. Once the pan is full, the creamy sauce goes right over the rolls and the rest of the cheddar goes on top.
That sauce is what makes these feel more like a casserole than a plain stuffed crescent roll. As everything bakes, the tops get golden while the sauce stays creamy around the rolls. You end up with a soft, savory center, melty cheese, bits of bacon, and those browned crescent edges everybody is going to fight over.
The rolls bake uncovered at 350°F for about 30 minutes. If the tops start getting darker than you want before the middle is ready, loosely cover the dish with foil and let it finish baking. No need to panic over a little extra color. Just cover that hoe up and keep going.
A couple easy ways to make it work for you
The video uses one can of cream of chicken soup and one can of cream of celery soup in the topping. If cream of celery is not your thing, you can use two cans of cream of chicken instead. That is an easy swap and keeps the same creamy idea going.
I also like reserving some of the bacon for the top. It gives you a little extra bacon in that first bite and makes the finished pan look like you tried harder than you actually did. We love that kind of math around here.
You can serve these as the main event with something simple on the side, or set the pan out and let everybody grab a roll while they’re hot. They’re rich enough that you do not need to build an entire production around them.
Dinner can be easy and still feel like dinner
This is one of those recipes that proves shortcuts do not make a meal less useful or less worth making. A rotisserie chicken, refrigerated dough, canned soup, and a packet of ranch seasoning can still turn into a pan of food that gets hungry people to the table.
That matters more to me than making every ingredient from scratch. Some nights you have time to fuss. Some nights you need to open a few packages and keep it moving. Both count.

Equipment

  • 9-by-13-inch baking dish

Ingredients

  • About 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
  • 1/2 block cream cheese softened
  • 6 slices bacon cooked and crumbled, divided
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese divided
  • 2 tubes refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 soup can milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded rotisserie chicken, softened cream cheese, most of the crumbled bacon, ranch seasoning, and about half of the sharp cheddar cheese. Mix until evenly combined.
  • Separate the crescent roll dough into individual pieces. Spoon some of the chicken mixture onto each piece of dough, then roll it up.
  • Arrange the filled rolls in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, stir together the cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, and 1 soup can of milk until combined.
  • Pour the creamy soup mixture evenly over the rolls. Top with the remaining sharp cheddar cheese and reserved bacon.
  • Bake uncovered at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  • If the tops are browning too quickly before the rolls are finished, loosely cover the baking dish with foil for the remaining bake time.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

  • If you do not want to use cream of celery soup, use 2 cans of cream of chicken soup instead.
  • The bacon is divided so some can be reserved for the top.
  • Loosely covering the dish with foil near the end of baking can keep the crescent-roll tops from getting too dark.
