Texas Toast Sloppy Joes


Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 8 slices frozen Texas toast
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can sloppy joe sauce
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  • Cook the frozen Texas toast according to package instructions.
  • While the toast cooks, brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess grease if needed.
  • Stir in the sloppy joe sauce and heat through.
  • Remove the Texas toast from the oven and use the back of a spoon to gently press a shallow well into the center of each slice.
  • Spoon the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the toast.
  • Top each slice with one slice of provolone cheese.
  • Return to the oven and bake at 425°F for 5–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve warm.
